A few nights ago my dad made a fire in the backyard. We bundled up in our warm winter clothes and braved the cold. Sitting around the fire in winter with my parents reminded me of when I was a kid and the time we spent at our family cabin in La Ronge, Saskatchewan.
We were always camping and spending time at the cabin in summer, although winter never stopped us from enjoying the outdoors. My family would load up the truck and drive four hours north. Once we would finally get to the cabin it would be freezing. It was usually warmer outside than in the cabin when we'd first get there, so while we were waiting for it to warm up my dad would make a big fire outside. We'd sit outside for hours around the flame until the cabin was finally warm enough to enjoy.
Sitting outside around the backyard fire pit the other night inspired me to make a cozy cabin playlist. It's perfect for curling up with a good book or enjoying the blaze of a campfire. Enjoy!
